Fort Erie is situated in the southeast corner of the Niagara Penisula.  The town offers many attractions to fill your days.

The Fort Erie Race Track features thoroughbred racing during the summer.  The track has one of the prettiest infields in North America.  This year will see several stakes races including the Prince of Wales Stakes, one of the Canadian Triple Crown races.

If history is more to your liking, Old Fort Erie is open to the public, offering an insight to earlier times. In addition to daily tours, the Fort features several events during the season including a reinactment that attracts many history buffs

Fort Erie is also becoming a theatrical centre.  Ridgeway Centre for the Arts will be opening this summer and Gypsy Theatre has purchased property and will be building shortly.

For the more active, a segment of the old CN Rail Corridor between the Old Fort and Holloway Bay is now being coverted to a recreational trail providing a safe and quiet place for a walk or bicycle trip. There are also several public golf courses in Fort Erie so don’t forget your clubs.

And don’t ignore our beaches.  The long sandy shoreline and mild shallow waters of Crystal Beach make it one of the most popular destinations of the summer.

Even going for a drive is beautiful in this area.  Follow the Niagara Parkway to Niagara Falls, Queenston Heights and Niagara-on-the-Lake.  Take a trip through the wine country or schedule a tour at one of the many wineries.
